PRACTICAL INFO
Our Macinaggio base, situated in the north of Bastia, is the perfect starting point for one or two week cruises. Macinaggio is a quiet, charming port marking the entrance to Cap Corso.
There is no problem with supplies all year round at our base. Some excellent restaurants in the port offer you menus with a base of fresh fish.
In a week’s charter you can sail along the west coast and discover Calvi, Cargese, Girolata or go to the Tuscan islands, Capraia and Elba.
With two weeks, you have enough time to go around the island. Corsica has some very beautiful white sandy beaches, typical Corsican villages, museums and diving spots of global renown. There is also a tasty gastronomy.

CLIMATE AND WINDS :
Some crystal-clear waters, with immense beaches of fine sand, some small deserted creeks and some wild cliffs populated by sea eagles: Corsica provides a range of unique marine landscape in the Mediterranean. It extends along over 1,000 kilometres of coastline with some magical places for swimming, fishing and diving. To the north-west, the beaches of Agriates rank amongst the wildest on the island. Further to the south, around Ile Rousse, the beaches of Balagne offer turquoise waters which contrast with the ochre of the rocks.
THE WINDS
The most persistent and most frequent winds in this region of the Mediterranean come from the SW and the SE. From April to October you may encounter thermal breezes between 1000 and 1800 hours. The winds are generally powerful in the bays and on passing the headland of the islands. The moorings are calm at night on the whole. The water temperature is between 19°and 27°C. In the summer months, from May to September, the winds are an average of force 3-5. During the winter months the weather is influenced by lows coming in from the Atlantic.
THE SEA AND TIDES
Tide less than 30 cm at spring tides. |
